Channel regulation of main stream of the Huaihe River from Linhuaigang to Lutaizi section

    Abstract:

    The river regime and combination of flood conditions are complex from Linhuaigang to Lutaizi section of main stream of the Huaihe River,which increase the channel regulation difficulty.In order to optimize the channel regulation project of this section,we establish a two-dimensional hydrodynamic mathematical model of the river channel according to the characteristics of the river section,calibrate and verify the model by multiple floods,determine the flood combination of “mainly in the main stream of the Huaihe River” as the most unfavorable flood combination for Liutaizi channel,and simulate the flow field of the current channel,the schemes of 480 m and 550 m bending radius to compare and analyze.The results show that in terms of flow pattern and lateral velocity,the scheme of 480 m bending radius is better than that of 550 m bending radius.The main stream of Huaihe River has a large width of water surface,and the channel bending radius can be appropriately reduced by increasing the width of navigable water area.The scheme has the advantages of changing little to the original channel,stable river regime,flowing smoothly and saving investment.
