    Abstract:

    The majority of the overseas port construction projects are located at areas with swell.The stability of the breakwaters under swell action is not fully known and researched.For the rubble-mound breakwater,the armour layer is very important,and also the toe of the rubble mound breakwater is important.Taking a breakwater project of a certain port as an example,the 2D and 3D physical model tests are performed to study the stability of the toe rocks of the rubble-mound breakwater under swell action.Based on the test results,the stability of the toe rocks of the rubble-mound breakwater under perpendicular and oblique wave action is compared.The damage of the toe rocks in the roundhead under oblique wave action is analyzed specially,and the damage level with the incident wave periods and water levels is also analyzed,thus the original plan of the toe rocks is optimized.
