This paper compares the ECMWF find-grid 10 m wind speed reanalysis data with the OWI reanalysis data received from a port project in west Kalimantan,Indonesia.The result of comparison between the ECMWF find-grid 10 m reanalysis product and the OWI has shown that the range is in a comparable level but the extreme values behave dissimilarly.The ECMWF data is in accordance with the real seasonal variations.The ECMWF wind field in the West Kalimantan Sea is analyzed,which provides a general judgment for the future survey and design works.
