In order to easily select materials when design according to British specification,we compare the properties of concrete and reinforcement between Chinese and British specifications.The results show that the partial safety factor of reinforcement in Chinese specification is higher than that of British specification,but the partial safety factor of the concrete is the contrary.For the same strength grade concrete,the characteristic value of the compressive strength in British specification is higher than that of Chinese specification.Except for C15 strength grade,the elastic modulus of concrete in Chinese specification is higher than that of British specification.The shear modulus and Poisson’s ratio of concrete,and the elastic modulus of reinforcement are approximately the same in both specifications.
