Abstract:Aiming at the differences in offset distance of sandbags,evenness of sandbag layer and construction efficiency of construction methods for dumping geotextile sandbags in the river,three construction methods,i.e.dumping by the manpower,flap and guiding cage respectively,applied to the river regulation engineering of Padma multi-purpose bridge project located in Bangladesh are compared.The result shows that the manpower dumping method is simple and the efficiency is high when dumping small sandbags,and the efficiency of dumping lager sandbags can be improved by using the flap,while the offset distance of sandbags dumped by the manpower and flap is relatively large;the guiding cage dumping method can control the falling track of the sandbag effectively and improve the accuracy and the evenness of dumped sandbag layer.By comparison,we get to know that the guiding cage method has advantages in the construction of geotextile sandbag dumping.
