    Abstract:

    Aiming at the problem of whether ADCP can measure the measuring suspended sediment concentration in the Yangtze River area,this paper applies the methods of ACDP and six-points water samples collecting to test the waters in the Yangtze River estuary.Through the measurement of spring,middle and neap tide,this paper obtains the data of two measurements in the full ebb and flow cycle.The data comparison shows that it is feasible that suspended sediment concentration is measured by ADCP.There is a linear relation between the changes of logarithm of ADCP’s intensity and suspended sediment concentration.The source of the measurement error with ADCP is underwater noise,underwater bubble and variousness of water.
