Based on the Chinese standard JTS 133—2013 Geotechnical Investigation on Port and Waterway Engineering,we compare it with BS EN 1997-2:2007 Eurocode 7-Geotechnical design-Part 2:Ground Investigation and Testing and the main geotechnical standards in ASTM.It is the first time that a Chinese geotechnical investigation on port and waterway engineering standards is campared with those of Europe and the USA.The comparison not only involve the core content,but also the main processes in geotechnical investigation including geotechnical classification of rock and soil,planning of ground investigations,drilling and sampling,in-situ testing,laboratory tests and ground investigation report.The achievements can provide reference for colleagues.
