The design of armour blocks is the crucial part for the rubber mound breakwater engineering.Based on one breakwater project in Fujian province,we make the comparison and study of breakwater with man-made armour and wide-berm rubble mound breakwater,and verify both type sections by physical experimental model.We obtain the similarity and difference of the protection effect,armour stability,usage of the stones and construction cost of the two types of rubble mound breakwaters,which can be a reference for the armour blocks design for similar rubble mound breakwater.
