Abstract:It is difficult to control the quality and progress of construction because of the difficulty of material selection and difficult construction of filling slope.Through the physical model test and numerical simulation,we preliminary study the feasibility of using artificial block instead of stone layer.Based on the result of the model test,a three-dimensional breakwater model which is closer to the actual sea conditions is built via CAD and CFD.And it is validated effectively by wave theory and model test.It gives the effects of different cushion types on wave run-up.The fluid force of armor blocks and flow field distribution are discussed. The results indicate that it is feasible to substitute artificial block for stone layer. It provides the basises for exploration the dynamic characteristics when the protective layer is instability, and it can provide some references for analysis the feasibility of using artificial block instead of stone layer in further engineering design.
