    Abstract:

The stability of the rubble-mound breakwater crown wall mostly depends on wave loads, and in the seas the breakwater is mostly under the oblique wave action. In this paper,we analyze the effect of the water level and incident wave direction on the reduction factor of the total oblique wave force of one rubble-mound breakwater crown wall, and compare with the vertical breakwater according to the oblique and direct irregular wave model test. The results show that the reduction factor of the total oblique wave force of one rubble-mound breakwater crown wall decreases with the water level or the incident wave direction decreasing. In most cases, the reduction factor of the total uplift oblique wave force is smaller than the horizontal one.The difference between the reduction factors of the total oblique wave force of the rubble-mound breakwater crown wall and the vertical breakwater varies with different water levels or incident wave directions.
