This article analyzes the geologic condition,bearing capacity,settlement control,and foundation type,etc.of underground engineering(including underground pipe gallery and large commercial underground space)in soft soil area of Hengqin waterfront and recommends the foundation type of underground engineering and reasonable spacing of different soil depths in Hengqin area,based on which,the standardized document for the foundation design is formed and successfully applied to the engineering practice.By the scheme,we meet the general requirements of “safe and reliable structure,reasonable and controllable economy,and feasible engineering implementation” .
