    Abstract:

    The software of ANSYS/LS-DYNA is used to simulate the process of collision between a 5 000ton break-bulk cargo ship and the 30 000 ton high-piled wharf of Jiangyin port with the speed of 2 m/s and 5 m/s. This article analyzes the forces and change of energy in the process of collision. Comparing with the result of specifications,general rules and characteristics are obtained, which provide theoretical supports and an engineering guidance during the design and maintenance of similar piers.
