    Abstract:

    Characterized by easy starting up, quick settling and rapid compacting, the sedimentation of silty coast has a great impact on the maintenance of estuarine channel. Double-dyke construction is the key to the approach channel regulation project of Sheyang port in order to reduce the sediment deposition. This paper studies the sediment deposition and distribution of the channel with different dyke top elevations by model tests, and the results show a better deposition reduction and less cost of projects with a top elevation near mean high tide level,serving as a reference for similar engineering designs.
