Abstract:
Great geographical discovery and colonial movement opened the age of global maritime trade.It has profound influence on the formation and evolution of the modern world city and port spatial structure till now. This paper analyses the characteristics of urban-port system in this background from a macroscopic view and historical dimension, to provide an analytical framework of global vision for understanding world port and urban development pattern today.
