With the unique resources, location and policy advantages, Fangchenggang city is becoming one of the most important economic core areas in the whole Guangxi regional economy. With the port development, the land width of Port Yugang is narrowed by both sides of the water. Meanwhile, due to the planning and construction of the steel base, a large number of Qisha Peninsula’s port coastline and land resources are occupied and thus restrict the development of steel downstream industries and large-scale maritime industries. The planning and construction of large artificial island at Qisha east of Fangcheng port will ease the shortage of resources to better utilize the advantages of the location and resources of Fangcheng port.
