    Abstract:

    Taking the demonstration program of Suizhong Xingang as a study case, we use a 2D numerical model for straight coast to simulate the current field of the filling-type jetty port, and discuss the factors such as plane flow pattern, cross-flow of port and channel, and the impact of construction to surrounding water. The results suggest that the wharf apron is not advisable to protrude too much, the entrance ought to be arranged in the same level as far as possible to avoid complex flow near the entrance and reduce the interaction between them, and large tonnage wharf would be best to be laid in the trestle form to decrease the impact on the surrounding water.
