The rapid sinking of pile is a common event during the piling execution at a port, especially the pile driving execution at the soft soil foundation. This paper analyzes the causes of rapid pile sinking and points out relevant problems which may be incurred. If the event of rapid pile sinking is not solved properly, it will result in many defects, such as cracks on pile, pile breaking, etc. Based on the analysis and practical project cases, this paper presents the precautionary measures and countermeasures to be taken for rapid pile sinking. Furthermore, it is prooftested that the solutions have good effects. Therefore, it is hoped that the construction measures and experience be used as references for similar works.
