By the structural and contrastive methods, this paper calculates the shipping lock capacity in the late five years on the basis of statistics data, and researches the feasibility of the measures so as to raise the capacity.It is concluded that the potential capacity by means of large-sized ships is limited, and the shipping lock capacity is saturating gradually, so it is difficult to satisfy the growing need of the water transport. It is suggested to optimize the standard ships and initiating the research on the newly-built navigation facilities.
