Experimental research on layer thickness of wave overtopping flow and secondary wave conditions over sloping breakwater

    Abstract:

    Based on a systematic analysis of the mean overtopping, layer thickness of wave overtopping flow on the crest of the breakwater and secondary wave height, as well as the period over breakwater by physical model test, we establish the relationship between the non-dimensional mean overtopping and relative layer thickness of wave overtopping flow, secondary wave height transmission coefficient, and period variation. The experimental results may serve as a reference for the practical engineering design and the parameter adjustment for associated numerical models.
