Abstract:To address the issues of strong wave reflection and poor ecological connectivity of vertical revetments, the wave reflection characteristics and ecological synergistic efficiency of ecological wave-dissipating structures are studied.Using physical model tests, the wave reflection coefficient of flat grid type, flat hole type, and cylindrical grid type structures are systematically compared, and the effects of opening size, incident wave height, and water depth on the wave reflection characteristics and ecological efficiency are analyzed. The results show that the wave reflection coefficient of the grid structure is lower than that of the straight hole structure because it can transmit and dissipate more wave energy. The reflection coefficient of the straight-hole type decreases by up to 6.14% with increasing opening ratio, whereas the grid types are insensitive to opening size. From an ecological perspective,it is recommended to choose a larger opening size.Due to the excitation of the Karman vortex street, the reflection coefficient of the cylindrical grating decreases significantly by about 6.96% under large wave heights, while the other two types are insensitive to wave height. All structures are most sensitive to water depth variations, which achieve optimal wave dissipation and ecological water exchange at moderate depths.
